Microchipping is an easy, cost-effective way to help identify your pet if lost or stolen. Every year, millions of pets go missing and do not make it back home. Some of these pets end up in shelters and can be identified with a quick scan if microchipped.
The microchip is as small as a grain of rice. It is placed under the skin, between your pets shoulder blades. At the VMC, the veterinarians and staff recommend microchipping at the time of your pets spay or neuter, but can be done at any time with a quick trip to the office. Our staff will help you fill out the paperwork and get your pet registered in the national data base.
