- Dr. Vegter grew up on a small crop farm in the northwestern portion of Illinois.
- She graduated from Iowa State University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and a minor in Culinary Science. She was also a member of the Iowa State University Cyclone Football ‘Varsity’ Marching Band.
- She attended the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated with her DVM in 2018.
